XCOM's chances to hit are all multiplied by 1.2 times. The game doesn't show this, but internally all of your 50% shots are really 60%. When you miss, you are given a flat +10 aim bonus on all shots over 50% until you land a hit for each miss .

In my experience if you dont give them a scope and a hit chip they, grenaders don't hit 80% of their shots. Even with it they will still miss 97% shots -.-. I only have one on the squad due too it. Never tried xcom 2 long war, but the original is great. To be fair, it is fairly grindy as well. Between being called "long war" and having the descri - #189671152 added by captnnorway at 95% chance to hit Graze occupies some fixed percent where hit and miss intersect.
XCOM 2 being a tile-based game plays out like a tabletop game when it comes to combat. This means that much like rolling a pair of dice, attacks have different percentage chances of being successful, along with critical and dodge probabilities. In XCOM 2, these details aren’t readily available. And that’s where Perfect Information comes in.

By stacking defense (Aid protocol) and dodge you can make units tank shots for low damage. Even if an enemy was very agile or whatever, in XCOM 1 they moved a lot of tiles in 1 turn but you wouldn't get lower hit percentages for no reason (like with chryssalids). The RNG in XCOM is a meme but I think XCOM 2 got it wrong. RNG in XCOM was something you managed - yes, sometimes things go wrong, but knowing that you manage the odds and ensure that even if you do get unlucky, you're still fine.
Sniper rifles have basically a 25% chance to critically hit, shotguns and rifles: 20% and 10%, respectively. Pistols and machine guns have 0% chance of additional damage, so using them it is necessary to use other modifiers. Questions about damage calculations not covered in the video? X-Com and XCom are both fun games, but they play very differently and really aren't that similar. (XCom 2 has the -----snakes) Play X-Com and its sequels if you want a -----ton of inventory management and Stalinist tactics while you barely hold your strategy together against the Alien's BS.
Because of it, and Tuco Benedicto Pacifico's encouragement, I became completely obsessed with XCOM 2. It's still my most played PS4 game at over 300 hours and it's pretty much a perfect video game.
